Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Azan Noor (“the app”) is available as an Android app and as a web app at app.azannoor.app. We built it to be private by design: there is no account, no advertising and no analytics, and we do not sell or share personal data.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location — or a city you choose manually — to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Prayer times are calculated on your device. We do not collect or store your location on our servers.

To show extra information, the app sends your approximate coordinates directly from your device to these services:

• Aladhan (api.aladhan.com) — for the Hijri date, Ramadan times and the Qibla bearing.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) — to show your city name, and to search when you pick a city manually.

These services receive your coordinates (or search text) and your IP address as part of the request, and handle it under their own privacy policies.

Notifications

On Android, the Adhan and prayer reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. No notification data passes through our servers.

Data stored on your device

Your settings — notification preferences, chosen location, Adhan voice and favourite duas — are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data removes them.

Fonts and hosting

• The app and this website load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are downloaded.
• This website, the web app and the APK download are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the service.

Permissions (Android)

• Location — to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction.
• Notifications and alarms & reminders — to play the Adhan and reminders on time.
• Internet — for the services listed above.
• Run at startup — to restore your scheduled Adhan after the phone restarts.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
