FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Azan Noor really free?

Yes — completely free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no account required.

Why does Android warn me when installing the APK?

Android shows this for any app installed from outside Google Play. Azan Noor is signed by us and downloaded directly from azannoor.app, so it is safe to install. Once it is on Google Play, you can get updates there instead.

The Adhan didn't play — what should I check?

Make sure Prayer notifications and Adhan at prayer time are on in the Settings tab, and use Test Adhan notification to check the sound.

Some phones (Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and others) stop apps in the background to save battery. Open your phone's Settings → Apps → Azan Noor → Battery and choose Unrestricted. If the app shows “Allow exact alarms”, tap it so the Adhan plays on time.

Which calculation method do you use?

Prayer times are calculated with the Umm Al-Qura method (Shafi‘i Asr). Times may differ by a minute or two from your local mosque — always follow your mosque's timetable where available.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Prayer times, the Adhan, reminders and the duas all work offline. The internet is only used to look up your city name, the Hijri date and the Qibla bearing.

Is my location shared with anyone?

Your location is used on your device to calculate prayer times. To show your city name, Hijri date and Qibla bearing, your approximate coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap and Aladhan. We don't collect or store it. Details in the privacy policy.

When will it be on Google Play and the App Store?

Google Play is next, followed by the App Store, in shā’ Allāh. Until then, Android users can install the APK above and iPhone users can use the web app from the Home Screen.

Bring the Adhan into your day.

Free. Private. Beautiful.
